CLOSINGS FOR THANKSGIVING
The offices of Elevator World, Inc. will be closed on November 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. They will open for regular business hours on November 28.

ELEVATOR WORLD is pleased to report the winners of the 2017 Project of the Year contest. Winning projects, which will be featured in our January issue, are: “Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre” in Melbourne, Australia, submitted by Schindler Lifts Australia in Elevators, New Construction; “The Metropolis Trust Building,” in San Francisco, submitted by Star Elevator in Elevators, Modernization; “The Denver Museum of Nature & Science” in Denver, submitted by KONE in Escalators, Modernization; “Jwacheon-Dong, Busan” in Busan, South Korea, submitted by Achim Hütter Consulting in Inclined Elevators; “Elevator in Utah” submitted by Custom Cabs Inc. in Private-Residence Elevators; “Maersk Oil Rig” in the Black Sea, submitted by Doppler SA in Special Purpose Lifts; and “Pasco de la Reforma V-1504 Lux VPL” in Mexico City, submitted by Savaria in Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts.
SOUTH BROOKLYN’S TALLEST RESIDENTIAL TOWER IN THE WORKS
Cammeby's International Group is driving piles for the retail portion of what promises to be the tallest residential tower in south Brooklyn at 40 stories and 430 ft., New York YIMBY reports. Designed by S9 Architecture, the golden, gridded structure known as Neptune/Sixth in Coney Island will eventually replace Trump Village Shopping Center. It is located at 532 Neptune Avenue and is slated to include approximately 540 apartments, 90,000 sq. ft. of retail and 15,521 sq. ft. of community space. It will be the fourth and final phase of a development that also includes a seven-story, 161,000-sq.-ft. office, retail and medical building expected to be complete in 2017.
