The Plagues are God saying I AM KING, and I will have complete dominion over all and I will destroy those who will not bend to my will.

That’s offensive!

And not just to one subcategory of society,

not just to one minority group or another,

there is equal opportunity for outrage here!

As Pharaoh takes his stand against Yahweh, the God of Israel he declares by his actions “God, you will not rule me. I am the master of my ship, the captain of my own destiny”.

And the LORD will have none of it.
