A longtime teacher and Democratic West Valley City, Rep. Elizabeth Weight is sponsoring a bill that would repeal the requirement that students pass a basic civics test before receiving a high school diploma.
The lawmaker is also proposing legislation to require executive branch agencies and departments to provide an eligible employee at least six weeks of paid parental leave for new baby for adopted child.
