While users often have a general appreciation of the need for security, many typically lack further knowledge. As such, the security experience needs to be as friendly as possible. Unfortunately, it is often characterised by confusion and frustration, with security appearing to stand in the way, demanding disproportionate effort, or not offering the desired protection.
