Lake Texoma Daily Fishing Report

"Excellent Fishing Conditions at Lake Texoma: Stripers, Catfish, and Crappie Biting Well"

Listen Later

As of January 2, 2025, Lake Texoma is offering some excellent fishing conditions. Here’s what you need to know for a successful day on the water.

First, the lake's elevation is currently at 617.89 feet, which is slightly above normal[2]. The water temperature is around 55°F, and the water is clear[1].

For those planning their day, sunrise was at about 7:30 AM, and sunset will be around 5:15 PM. The weather is expected to be mild, making it a great day to be out on the lake.

Fishing activity has been good, especially for striped bass. Yesterday, stripers were active on live shad and flukes, particularly around channels, flats, main lake points, and river channels. Deadsticking with live shad has also been very effective[1].

Catfish, including blue, channel, and flathead, are biting well on cut bait, dough bait, live shad, punch bait, and stinkbait near channels, coves, and river mouths. Crappie are fair on minnows, jigs, and hair jigs around brush piles and docks[1].

For the best results, use live shad for stripers and fresh cut shad or live shad for catfish. Crappie are responding well to minnows and small jigs.

If you're looking for hot spots, consider Eisenhower State Park Bluffs on the Texas side, Denison Dam, and North Island on the Oklahoma side. West Burns Run in Oklahoma is also a productive area[4].

Overall, it's a great time to be fishing at Lake Texoma, with many species active and responding well to the right baits and lures. Enjoy your day on the water
