# 78 - Exciting New Research! 12 Hallmarks of Aging - Part 1

Understanding the underlying reasons for aging is a hot topic. Aging is the gradual decline of your physiological processes and functions.

As you age, your risk of chronic disease increases, while your energy, mobility, immunity, and vitality decrease. The question we all ask ourselves is: Is this decline an inevitable fact of life or is it possible to turn back the clock of aging as we get older?

This year, a paper published in the highly respected journal, Cell, unpacked The 12 Hallmarks of Aging. This article adds onto the original 9 Hallmarks of Aging and highlights a new era of reversing aging. This amazing information adds to our understanding of how we can slow the aging process on our own.

During this episode, I share with you the underlying mechanisms of aging and offer evidence-based tips for slowing the aging process and promoting healthy aging through simple nutrition and lifestyle shifts.
