In this interview Michael Derk, Executive Managing director at Marcus and Millichap Capital Corporation, sits down with Drew Hoeven. Drew has ~20 years of real estate and self-storage experience that has included acquisitions, dispositions, development, construction and operations. He currently is Chairman and CIO of Westport Properties, Inc. and US Storage Centers, Inc. Westport Properties, Inc., and US Storage Centers (USSC) were founded in 1985 and 1998 respectively by Barry Hoeven and specialize in the self-storage, multi-family and industrial industries. With a combined experience of over 100 years in the real estate, construction and self-storage industries, the team at USSC has grown to currently operating over 180 facilities equating to over 12 million square feet of self-storage in 18 states. Westport employs over 500 people nationwide and generates revenues exceeding $230 million. Drew graduated from the University of Southern California. He is a member of the SSA, past chair of the CSSA, USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, a member of YPO and a NAIOP Forum member.  Drew is a licensed broker in the state of California.
