Paris-born, London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Dramaboy is bringing his distinct, spacy, synth-led sound on the Reality compilation via Paradoxy Records, alongside artists such as LDLDN, Pearla, Aleqs Notal, and more.
MIMS has the pleasure of premiering “Janet,” a track built on warm pads, melodic synth lines, a low-slung rhythm, and well, Janet.
As Dramaboy puts it: “I wanted to explore a more carnal groove after witnessing for the first time all Janet Jackson’s very provocative 90s live performances. Then it evolved into its own more dramatic thing. For the solo at the end, I recorded it like 20 times before pulling it off – it’s a bit of a first for me to have this on a track. It’s somewhat of a transition track for me, slightly departing from the more celestial, spacey sound of my first album.”
