In the early morning hours of August 26, 2001, Loni Kai disappeared along Oregon's Tualatin Valley Highway. She was trying to return home after getting a ride into town from an unknown friend who has never come forward. 

Hours later, Loni's body was discovered near a rural stretch of road in Washington County. More than two decades later, her homicide remains unsolved.

Loni Kai was a Trans Woman who was deeply loved by her family, but still navigating the world through a life that came with danger, isolation and silence.
