The book of Exodus picks up where the book of Genesis leaves off: with the establishment of God’s people as a nation among other nations. The book of Exodus is the story of the formation of God’s people, building off of the story of God’s covenant told in Genesis. The narrative woven throughout Exodus teaches us about what it means to be the people of God. From Exodus 1, we see that God is faithful to restore His creation: His people are called to trust His restorative work.
