We were not created for darkness. We don’t like it! We don’t do well in it.

We were created for LIGHT. Without light we are lost. Without light we are helpless. Without light… we’re dead.

And the LORD is very much drawing on those realities of light and darkness and the imagery wrapped up in that when in the Tabernacle, in this tent where He has promised His presence would dwell, He instructed Israel to build a lampstand. The Tabernacle was a place where there would be LIGHT.
