God not only wants to rule, but He also wants to dwell with us. So He orders Moses to build a Tabernacle where He can commune with His people. It is a shadow of the real temple in heaven, where we have Jesus the High Priest continually offering His blood to confirm the covenant of atonement of sins to all who trust in Him for salvation. The Ark of the Covenant, the table of the Bread of His presence, and the lampstand, all vivid representations of the manifest presence of God, His everlasting nourishment through His word, and the revelation of truth by His Spirit.
