Exodus 3: Burning Bush and God’s Call Bible Study

Exodus 3 recounts a pivotal moment in the Bible where God calls Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. While tending his father-in-law Jethro’s flock near Mount Horeb, Moses encounters a bush that burns without being consumed. God speaks from the bush, identifying Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and reveals His awareness of the Israelites’ suffering. He commissions Moses to confront Pharaoh and deliver His people, promising to bring them to a land flowing with milk and honey. Moses hesitates, questioning his ability, but God reassures him with His name, “I AM WHO I AM” (Yahweh), and promises His presence. God also instructs Moses to gather Israel’s elders and foretells Pharaoh’s resistance, previewing the miracles to come.
