* Moses held Aaron responsible for the people breaking loose and worshipping a false god.

* Aaron was the spiritual leader, and it was his responsibility to guide them.

* But he wanted to please them, not guide them, so he gave them what they wanted.

* Aaron was supposed to be the conscience and point them in the way they should go.

* But he didn’t want to be controversial so he stayed out of the fight.

* The result? All hell broke loose.

* Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "The church must be reminded that it's neither the master nor the servant of the State, but rather it's the conscience of the State."

* Imagine what your life would be like if your conscience went dark and stopped telling you where to go and what to do.

* All hell would break loose.

* As adults most all of us are the spiritual leader of somebody (and if we’re not we should be).

* Let’s not be like Aaron.
