Yahweh tells Moses that he will give the Israelites the promised land, but he also informs them that he will not go with them. You would think that would fulfill all of Moses’ desires considering just last chapter, he was interceding for God not to destroy Israel. But this is not what Moses desires, not even close. What is it that Moses desires for the people above even the land of Canaan?
