Chapter 12: The Passover Instituted
God instructed Moses and Aaron regarding the observance of the Passover, a commemoration of the night when the Israelites would be spared from the final plague.
Each Israelite household was to sacrifice a lamb, smear its blood on their doorposts, and eat the lamb with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
The blood on the doorposts would serve as a sign for the Lord to pass over that house and spare its inhabitants from the plague.
