The title “Exodus” means “way out,” for God is showing the people enslaved in Egypt a way out to freedom. Exodus is the second book of the Pentateuch (the five books of Moses), it is where we find the stories of the Ten Plagues, the first Passover, the parting of the Red Sea, and the Ten Commandments. Exodus is all about God making Israel his own, they are his people, and he is their God.
