Biblical hope has God as its source, while worldly hope is ultimately based on chance. Since God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow, does not know how to fail, and has proven Himself from the beginning of time, then a biblical hope is certain and sure. How we hope, as human beings, is based on our faith on the source of hope. If we are fully convinced in the source then that’s where our hope is.
