What do you really want the most out of life? In this guide you will learn how to get there, in baby steps, small bites you take in life, all while chewing well. As well as practical, real-life strategies and insights, the author includes many stellar resources to kick off your new life. You may find some ideas that you might have heard of, others that may be new and unique to you.
The chapter that talked about conquering fear, I think I resonated with the most. If you think what you need is a 12-step to get over your fears whether rational or not, think again! The author makes it fun, or at least easier to swallow in the resource page provided. I found myself thinking of the TV show King of the Hill, in which Boomhauer teaches Bobby how to get over his fear of talking to girls by illustrating how "every no just gets you closer to hearing that yes". This maxim may have been heard by us before, but have we all really taken the time to really think about the meaning of the term "numbers' game"? As Dr. Carroll puts it in perspective: when you really think about it, what is the worst that can happen? When it is put like that, it is a game, and not a life or death situation.
And do you know what it means to treat the present as it was once said wisely: "a gift"? A great take on that one, I think. I wish more people would take that one to heart.
