Coal Australia's inaugural CEO Stuart Bocking told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, 'the reality is if you were to speak to the treasurer of Queensland, the treasurer of New South Wales and said to them, by the way, coal's gone tomorrow, they would have a heart attack.'
'Because the royalties coming in from coal run to billions of dollars.'
'Regardless of what happens here on the energy front in Australia, demand for export coal will continue for many years to come,' Bocking said.
