Words like "exploring" and "adventure" usually imply taking a trip to a destination that is hours away from home. However, we don't think this needs to be the case. Dare to be a tourist in your own hometown. There's more adventure there than you think.

There's only one thing we love talking about more than dogs: food. Wherever you may travel you will always need to eat. Sometimes you bring your food with you and sometimes you have to go out and seek it. This week we discuss all of the various ways this can be accomplished, some of our favorite places to eat, and how memories can become attached to certain foods. If you're not hungry when we start talking then you probably will be when we are done.

When you take a trip you generally have a purpose for going to your destination. This can be as simple as traveling for leisure (think about your traditional vacation) or it can be something like traveling for a recreational activity (a trip to the mountains to hike, a trip to take photos, etc). Travis and Stephen continue the travel theme this week as they explore a number of "purpose driven trips".

Following up on our discussions about day trips and road trips we found ourselves talking about all of the different kinds of places we've stayed in the past. The conversation starts with Travis's recent stay at Getaway DC in Stanardsville, Virginia, but covers 30+ years of travels and a wide range of accommodations. Listen to find out about a possibly haunted Milwaukee hotel, a close call with criminal activity, and why Travis both loves and hates resorts.

Following last week's conversation on daytrips, Stephen and Travis discuss some things you should consider when taking longer journeys. They also describe roadtrips they have taken in the past, and talk about roadside attractions. Travis talks about the roadtrip litmus test and why it might be important for your relationships.

You may never have thought much about the deference between a daytrip and a roadtrip (and you personally might not make a distinction), but Stephen and I have a few thoughts on the matter. Listen as we hash out the differences, dive into a discussion on our favorite daytrips, and talk about why we think the underrated daytrip deserves more praise.

It's no secret that we love dogs, so it makes sense that we want to bring them with us on our adventures. This week we talk about all the extra things you have to think about when you bring your four-legged friend along for the ride... or hike... or paddle.
