Exploring: The Ant and The Bear

Listen Later

So, as we've just learned, the amount of sunlight you see each day was decided during an argument between an ant and a bear.

But how come they got to make this decision?!

Did they even bother to read ANY books about negotiations, weather/climate, or circadian rhythms???

Ridiculous, I tell ya.

Long Claw clues us in on why these two unlikely characters were tasked with this little, not-very-significant decision.

And the takeaways go a little deeper than you might expect.

I suppose comedy really is a good delivery mechanism for big topics and decisions.

If only they could have weighed in on daylight savings time.

We get to the bottom of this historic debate, and reflect on how it might help us understand the nature of disagreement and compromise.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to see a raccoon and penguin about my taxes.
