Did you know that some Christians believe that miraculous gifts, such as prophecy and speaking in tongues, ceased after the apostolic era? This belief is known as cessationism, and it is based on a flawed hermeneutical approach.

Cessationists often rely heavily on isolated scriptural passages to support their position, emphasizing verses like 1 Corinthians 13:8- 10, which mentions that the gifts will "cease." However, a closer examination reveals that this passage does not teach that the gifts would cease at the closing of the Christian Canon, as many cessationists claim.
