Welcome to the Podcast!
My name is Natalia, and I am your host! Today, I have the pleasure of speaking to Dr. Brian Williams-an advocate, educator, and surgeon at The University of Chicago Medicine.
Dr. Williams and I discuss how being an underrepresented minority has impacted his journey to becoming a surgeon, and how those experiences have instilled advocacy and empathy in Dr. William's life. We also chat about the difficulties of Medical School, and tips on how to combat the fast-paced, stressful four years!
Dr. William's love for teaching has positioned him as an Associate Professor at UChicago, where he mentors, guides, and teaches students. Paired with his advocacy, during these trivial times, Dr. Willams expresses the issues in Chicago happening with underrepresented minority groups in terms of violence and lack of resources (i.e. COVID-19 vaccine).
Happy Listening!
