Today, we're diving into the details of the Midwest Discovery Route, presented by Midland Radio.
The Midwest Discovery Route is a thrilling 200-300 mile journey designed to bring you to the Moore Expo from four different starting cities: Kansas City, Little Rock, St. Louis, and Tulsa. This route is the most fun and scenic way to get to the Expo, featuring water crossings, old bridges, mines, and more.
We discussed the evolution of the route from its predecessor, the S'more to Moore, and how we've expanded and improved it. With the help of Ryan McAllister, who has an extensive knowledge of the Midwest's backroads, we've meticulously mapped out these routes using a combination of Google Maps, satellite images, and historic maps.
One of the highlights of the episode was our discussion about the rally book, which participants will receive upon registration. This book includes turn-by-turn directions, coordinates, and a list of campsites along the way. We also touched on the importance of having a reliable vehicle and the flexibility of the route, allowing participants to run it at their own pace and even in segments if needed.
