Hey everyone, welcome to this week's episode of the More Momentum podcast! I'm your host, Chris Holloway, and today we have an exciting show lined up for you. We're diving into all things fun related to More Expo, More Momentum, the Midwest Discovery Route, and the training courses provided by Switchback.
Joining me today is my good friend Lee Odom from Overland Radio, who is a huge advocate for the community. We also have two incredible guests, Lisa Addington and Katie Abraham, who are badass women competing in the longest all-women's rally, the Rebelle Rally. These women navigate without GPS, tackling true hard obstacles and trails, and they have some amazing stories to share.
Lisa got into off-roading after her husband retired and bought a Jeep. She quickly caught the off-roading bug and now drives a highly modified 2018 JLU Sport. Katie, on the other hand, was inspired by her partner and quickly found a teammate in Lisa. Together, they formed Team Wild Marens and have been competing in the Rebelle Rally, which zigzags between California and Nevada.
We discussed the importance of communication, patience, and inner strength in their competitions. Katie also shared her experiences in stage rallying and her upcoming desert race, while Lisa talked about the technical aspects of their Jeep and the essential gear they carry.
We also touched on the Midwest Discovery Route, a new adventure for More Expo attendees. This route offers a mix of pavement and gravel roads, beautiful scenery, and plenty of opportunities to test new equipment. We shared our experiences from a recent trip, highlighting the stunning waterfalls, caves, and local eateries we encountered along the way.
Lastly, we answered some listener questions about the routes and communication channels, emphasizing the flexibility and self-sufficiency required for these adventures.
Thank you for tuning in, and a big shoutout to Lee for making sure everything runs smoothly. Stay tuned for more exciting episodes, and don't forget to check out the More Expo and the Midwest Discovery Route!
