Listen Later

In this episode I met with a friend and colleague, Danielle D'Aries, who shares about the many different avenues students can pursue in the field of Fine Arts.

Danielle has taught for 21 years at several community colleges and 4-year institutions in Southeastern PA. She is currently teaching art classes for a high school.

Danielle is passionate about educating others on all the different ways art is used in culture and life. She is also enjoys sharing how elements

of art or graphic design are utilized in almost every other career in one form or another.

In this episode, Danielle shares about her experiences teaching art classes of different ages from high school to college level. She

shares how she practices her expertise of art everyday (in her home studio) and how to become good at anything (including art)- one must engage and practice it daily. She shares about the influence of art can be such a creative process with many intangible rewards.

Danielle shares how her passion for art inspired her to take a solo trip to Egypt for 20 days to see the Egyptian art and culture. She shared an unfortunate but funny story about her experience. You’ll have to listen.

We also talked about the stigma of seeking a Fine Arts degree and making lower income. Danielle shared how art is included with graphic design and digital media, which in today's world are "booming" industries.

Danielle provided advice for art students to explore all the different options in the field that are under the umbrella of Fine Arts. Some of these careers include education, art galleries, graphic design, landscaping, event planning, and designing tattoos.

She also provided valuable advice and key tips for young art students in high school and college. You don't want to miss it.
