Recognising bondage is important, but seeing the chain is not the same as breaking it. We may understand our triggers, patterns, pain, and sinful habits, yet still remain under their mastery.
In this devotion, we discover why awareness, determination, and willpower cannot produce true freedom. Human effort may restrain behaviour, but only Jesus Christ has the authority to break sin’s dominion and change who rules the life.
Conviction is not meant to leave us staring at our failure. It is meant to bring us honestly to the Son. When we confess what truth has exposed, stop trusting ourselves, and surrender that area to Christ, we receive the genuine freedom He has purchased for us.
The chain may be stronger than your will, but it is not stronger than the authority of Jesus Christ. If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
