É a única estrela que vemos durante o dia.

Alguns grupos de estrelas têm nomes.

Eles se parecem com pessoas ou animais.

A LUA

A lua é uma grande esfera de pedra.

A lua parece ser o maior objeto no céu noturno.

Ela parece grande porque está próxima da Terra.

A lua não emite luz.

A lua parece brilhante porque o sol brilha sobre ela.

O sol só briilha em metade da lua por vez.

A outra metade da lua fica escura.

A lua parece diferente em momentos diferentes do mês.

A lua se move ao redor da Terra.

Vemos diferentes partes do lado que brilha da lua em momentos diferentes.

Às vezes a lua se move em frente ao sol durante o dia.

A lua bloqueia os raios solares.

PLANETAS

Os planetas são objetos grandes que se movem ao redor de uma estrela.

A Terra é o planeta em que vivemos.

Podemos ver cinco planetas no céu noturno.

Eles são: Mercúrio, Vênus, Marte, Júpiter e Saturno.

O sol brilha na metade da Terra por vez.

A outra metade fica escura.

A Terra gira como um pião.

Temos dia e noite porque a Terra gira.

A Terra se move ao redor do sol.

A Terra faz uma volta ao redor do sol a cada ano.

O céu noturno parece diferente em épocas diferentes do ano.

COMETAS E ESTRELAS CADENTES

Os cometas são pedaços de poeira e gelo que se movem ao redor do sol.

Stars look small because they are very far away.

The sun is a star.

The moon is a big ball of rock.

The moon looks like the biggest object in the night sky.

It looks big because it is close to Earth.

The moon does not make light.

The moon looks bright because the sun shines on it.

The sun only shines on half of the moon at a time.

The other half of the moon is dark.

The moon looks different at different times of the month.

The moon moves around Earth.

We see different parts of the moon’s bright side at different times.

Sometimes the moon moves in front of the sun during the day.

The moon blocks the sun’s rays.

PLANETS

Planets are big objects that move around a star.

Earth is the planet we live on.

We can see five planets in the night sky.

They are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

The sun shines on half of Earth at a time.

The other half is dark.

Earth spins like a top.

We have day and night because Earth spins.

Earth moves around the sun.

Earth makes one trip around the sun each year.

The night sky looks different at different times of the year.

Comets are bits of dust and ice that move around the sun.

Comets have long tails.

Shooting stars fly through the night sky.

Shooting stars are small space rocks that burn up as they fly toward Earth.
