When I recieve an unsolicited sales call at work I'm usually icy, cutting them off and asking to be added to thier do not call list. I'll take their name and inform them we don't do business with cold callers and further communication will be an FCC violation. On the other hand, if you call me at home on my personal number, I'm likely going to mess with you, and drag the call out (because while I'm leadign you on, you're not scaming anyone else). If you call my daughter when WE'RE RECORDING, you're obviously going to become part of the show.
