The pandemic presented an opportunity for health care professions to provide telehealth services with soft rules in place. This gave both providers and payers time to study the impact and negotiate permanent laws and rules to guide digital health delivery in Illinois for the long term.
Two substantial pieces of legislation were passed that provide the pathway for delivering telehealth today. This program will provide an overview of these laws as well as information about the proposed rules that will guide the delivery of physical therapy through telehealth for Illinois.

Colleen Flannery, IPTA Executive Director, will present the information and provide time for participants to ask questions about implementing telehealth into practice. Colleen has served as both the executive director and a lobbyist for the association for the last 15 years and has helped negotiate key pieces of legislation for physical therapy including dry needling, direct access and now telehealth.
