Today when injured in a car collision, insured don't know whether insurance companies will do the right thing, so it is up to each policyholder to persevere through hard times.  Insurance Companies know this makes more policyholders more pliable to their demands.  If there was ever a time to hope for good faith insurer behavior but expect bad faith actions, it would be in this situation.
