James and Pádraig welcomed LGBTQ advocate and journalist, Beryl Ohas to the studio for a candid chat on growing up as a queer person in Kenya before seeking asylum in Ireland

Beryl opens up about her childhood and the struggles for members of the queer community which still exist in Kenya today.

She shares how she came to her decision to move to Ireland with the help of an unlikely ally, her husband whom her family arranged a marriage with.

Beryl talks about the process of seeking asylum, what can be done to make the experience safer for LGBTQ people and the supports that are there for people find themselves in a similar situation.
