Luke 7:36ff

A religious leader invites Jesus to his home for a party. Jesus seemed to like parties. 

Enter stage left an unnamed woman who anoints Jesus' feet. She doesn’t want to be in the limelight, she doesn’t anoint his head, she anoints his feet. She stands behind Jesus not in front. And she stood weeping. Why did she weep? 

Jesus explains it through a parable that exposes his host's bad attitude and her gratitude. 

It also explains Jesus’ extravagant love.
