India's drug controller cleared the Tamil Nadu-based company whose eye drops may have caused deaths in the US. This is now the third time when Indian-made drugs have allegedly caused deaths abroad. This is bad news at many levels. Safety in healthcare is primary but India is known as the world's pharmacy. There have been two previous reports of Indian-made drugs causing deaths in the Gambia and in Uzbekistan and now, this report from the US.
