The University of the Western Cape has come up with an innovative way of giving first-hand life experience to their foundation phase teaching students. They go on to say that this is a way to expose the first-year students to the social background of their future learners, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, while sensitising them to the complexity of the teaching profession.
