The emotions around climate change felt by young people include not only fear and anxiety, but also hope, optimism, and care. Bénédicte Mouton from the Université Libre de Bruxelles prefers to call it climate sensitivity.
In her latest study, Eco-Emois, she surveyed hundreds of young people in French-speaking Belgium about climate anxiety and the associated emotions, actions, and effects on their life. She shares her findings and interpretations with us on this episode of EYES on Climate.
We've co-created a high school curriculum in climate storytelling, broken up into off-the-shelf, ready-to-teach units, that explore topics from climate justice to systemic change, and from planetary boundaries to human–nature connection. The data and concepts of each unit are activated by storytelling and journalism projects, getting your students out there and into the world.
You can find the curriculum on eyesonclimate.org and soon on news-decoder.com
