Tai-Ex opening

The Tai-Ex opened up 25-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 22,210

on turnover of 2.9-billion N-T.

The market closed slightly lower on Tuesday on the back of thin turnover

following heavy losses suffered by tech stocks on Wall Street overnight.

Sentiment also turned cautious amid a sudden sharp rise in international

crude oil prices, which could potentially rekindling (重新點燃) inflation,

and is leading to doubts over whether the U-S Federal Reserve will slow down

its pace in a rate cut cycle.

Nine other people were summoned (被傳喚) for questioning in connection with

the same case and released without bail last week.

Egypt Artifacts Recovered from Netherlands

Egypt has recovered three ancient artifacts after they were smuggled out of

the country and found in the Netherlands.

Egyptian authorities say two of the items were for sale in an antiques shop.

The items include a mummified head, a ceramic (陶瓷的) figurine, and the side

of a wooden tomb.

Dutch police and the cultural heritage inspection unit retrieved the

figurines and parts of the tomb after determining that they were smuggled out

of Egypt.

A Dutch individual handed over the mummified head, which he had inherited

from a family member, to local authorities.

Egyptian authorities say more than 30-thousand artifacts have been recovered

from around the world since 2014.
