The Tai-Ex opened up 567-points this morning from yesterday's close, at

23,621 on turnover of $16.7-billion N-T.

The market staged a mild technical rebound on Thursday as investors were

encouraged by a rally on Wall Street overnight on the back of some positive

earnings reports.

Momentum accelerated in the afternoon session, as artificial

intelligence-related stocks bounced back from Wednesday's decline ..

…. and that helped the main board stay above the nearest technical

resistance around the five-day moving average of 23,046 points by the end of

the trading day.

The 2024 Taipei Nuit Blanche will be taking place on November 2 in the city's

"abominable snowmen" as well as still artworks, performances and video

screenings

According to Taipei Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua, the Nuit Blanche is now in its

ninth year and has become a major event that highlights Taipei's "cultural

vibrancy."

Taipei Nuit Blanche's artistic director Agi Chen says events will also be

taking place at the nearby Yongkang Street and Dongmen shopping areas as well

as the Jianguo Holiday Markets.

The 2024 Taipei Nuit Blanche will take place on Saturday November 2 from 2PM

to 2AM the following day.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his government has intelligence

information that 10,000 troops from North Korea are being prepared to join

Russian forces fighting against his country.

Zelenskyy told reporters at NATO headquarters, that the personnel had not yet

been moved to Ukraine or to Russia.

Zelenskyy did not go into further details about the claim, but warned that a

third nation wading into the hostilities (戰爭行為) would turn the conflict

into a “world war.”

The Ukrainian leader’s comments raised the stakes for his Western allies as

he met with European Union leaders and then NATO defense ministers to discuss

his “victory plan” to end the country’s devastating war with Russia.

A new fire station in central Germany, which was destroyed in a fire, did not

have a fire alarm system.

According to local media is reports, the fire broke out early Wednesday

morning at the Stadtallendorf fire station in Hesse and destroyed, among

other things, the equipment hall and almost a dozen emergency vehicles.

No one was injured, but initial (最初的) estimates put the damage at up to

$26-million US dollars.

Local officials say no fire alarm system was installed in the building

because experts had considered it not necessary.

Reports say the station opened less than a year ago.
