Welcome to this week's episode of our Ezra Bible Study. Today, Gloria Lee will be diving into the book of Ezra, specifically chapters 8 and 9 verses 1 - 10. 

In chapter 8, we see Ezra leading a group of exiles back to Jerusalem with a mission to restore the temple and reinstate the law of God. Ezra takes great care in selecting trustworthy individuals to accompany him on this journey and ensures that all the necessary materials for the temple's reconstruction are accounted for.  

As they journey towards Jerusalem, Ezra and his companions encounter some difficulties, including the threat of ambush by enemies. However, through prayer and faith in God, they make it safely to their destination.  

In chapter 9 verse 1, we see Ezra overwhelmed with grief as he learns of the intermarriage between the Jewish people and other nations. Ezra recognizes this as a violation of God's law and leads the people in a heartfelt prayer of confession and repentance. 

 Through Ezra's example, we see the importance of obeying God's laws and the consequences that come when we choose to disobey them. Join us as we explore the powerful lessons and themes found in these chapters of Ezra.
