In this first episode of the Pilot series of Artisans of Nations podcast, Rachel Lee sits with Del Curfman, visual artist from Crow Nation in his studio based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Known for his "Vanishing Series" paintings, Del shares his journey of becoming a professional visual artist to attending school as a double major at The Institute of American Indian Arts, he now explores a new, ongoing project titled, "Faces Of Our Land".


Del explains his vision for his project and the diverse topics that Indigenous individuals face. From stereotypes to social issues, we learn a better understanding of how "Faces Of Our Land" impacts Native and non-Native people alike.

SHORT BIO OF DEL CURFMAN:

Known for his work with Apsáalooke (Crow Nation of Montana) imagery and cultural exploration. Del Curfman investigates heritage, tradition, and humanity through painting by incorporating techniques and styles of impressionism.
