A gracefully aging face is a beautiful thing, but, let's be honest, there are changes that occur with age that we would like to slow down. Age affects every part of the body.
Changes in our faces are most at the forefront.
Facial ageing occurs mainly as the result of skin changes and changes in the deeper soft tissues of the face. Factors that influence external skin changes include natural aging, skin type, sun exposure, facial movement, and routine skincare.
In this podcast episode, Marni will be speaking with Dr Naveen Somia, President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Somia is a published author of several scientific papers in Plastic Surgery. He was awarded a PhD for his 3-year research into Eyelid Reanimation using implantable microelectrodes and the study of Eyelid Movements.
He is also one of few Australian plastic surgeons that provide treatment and management strategies for patients with lipoedema. Dr Somia takes an active interest in the teaching, training and mentoring Australia’s future plastic surgeons, as well as keeping abreast of new advances in science and technology.
