It has been said that when we lose faith fear is there to take its place. We so often fear what we cannot control, fear what we cannot understand, and fear what might happen if we step outside of our comfort zones. 1 John 4:18 says that there is no fear in love but perfect love casts out all fear. As we live through this perfect love given to us in Christ we are empowered to step boldly and faithfully into the good works that have been prepared for us. We lean not on our own understanding or power but we lean into the power of the Holy Spirit working through us. Through the cross we have the power to overcome our fears and step out.
