Chaplain, Can We Talk?

Facing Grief with Eric Nobrega

Listen Later

in the third primary episode of Chaplain, Can We Talk our very own Eric Nobrega talks about some of his personal experiences with grief when as a 6th grader he saw his father unexpectedly (at least for him) die in front of him. Eric talks about what helped and what hurt with his grief. He offers insight from his experience that will help anyone dealing with their own grief or the grief of someone they love. In addition, Eric offers up insight into helping children face their own grief.

Eric referenced three songs during our discussion. Here are those songs.

  •  "Those Nights" by Skillet. The lyric he paraphrases is "Stay up late and we'd talk all night, In a dark room lit by the TV light, Through all the hard times in my life, Those nights kept me alive". https://youtu.be/6vtrZQgG1uA
  • "April 24, 1981" by Rick Springfield https://youtu.be/09VLIFCP3Xk
  • "With Hope" by Steven Curtis Chapman https://youtu.be/JmyUgsmCzB4
