Members Reviews:
One of Nick Oldham's best
This is one of Oldham's best that I have read so far. Although most of his Henry Christie series are stand alone, there is definitely a connection between FACING JUSTICE and SEIZURE. I suggest reading SEIZURE first, followed by FACING JUSTICE. SEIZURE is a good one, but I think it just does not come close to the genuiness and hard hitting of FACING.
Without giving anything away, FACING is a complete read. The timing seems perfect as are the characters and the setting. Most of it takes place on a snowy evening in a picturesque English village, the site of a thug convention of sorts. Because of the weather and other circumstances, Christie is mostly on his own, dealing with murder and mayhem- another perfect maelstrom, aside from the weather.
I very rarely give any book a 5 star rating, but this one definitely deserves it and maybe even more. It may prove to be much too violent for some, but that is overshadowed by the reality of Oldham's writing style. This guy walks the walk.
