In this episode, I get real about what’s been holding me back from putting out these podcast episodes. The fear of being seen.
And I don’t mean wanting to hide your physical imperfections because you’re worried someone’s gonna think you’re ugly.. I’m talking about you're scared for people to see who you really are because you think when they find out that they're going to reject you, or that they're going to finally see that you weren't worthy of all the love they've been giving you and take it away.
This fear can run deeeep, and a lot of the times, we don’t even know it’s there. We get so used to living with it and dancing around it, that we just program ourselves to stay small. We hide parts of ourselves because we think it will protect us from the pain of rejection or help us receive love.
And in doing so, we really reject our own selves & block out the blessings and beautiful connections that are waiting for us on the other side of allowing ourselves to be seen.
Here’s what I cover in this episode:
✨ Why the fear of being seen keeps you stuck—and how to begin breaking free
✨ How this fear of being seen is coming up for me at my new job
✨ How we hide behind masks to protect ourselves, and why it's time to strip those away
✨ The evolutionary reason why we crave acceptance from the people around us
✨Why being your authentic self is actually your superpower, even when it feels scary as hell
✨The amazing shit that happens when you finally let yourself be seen
✨ Why the parts of yourself you think are "messed up" might be exactly what someone else needs to see
✨ Why waiting to be "perfect" or “fully healed” before sharing yourself with the world is bullshit
✨ How to catch yourself when you're hiding and choose to be brave instead
Look, I get it. We've all been conditioned since we were little to seek validation from others. We get taught that we must receive approval or permission before we shine our lights. This is the energy that keeps us small—the energy of hiding, of seeking external validation, of shrinking instead of rising. 🌱❌ But I'm learning that our power isn't in waiting for permission or the perfect moment - it's in showing up as exactly who we are right now.
This episode is raw, unfiltered, and straight from the heart. Because maybe that's exactly what we all need more of. I love you.
And I see you. I mean unless you’re still hiding…then no one can see you.
Stop doing that shit. Stop dimming your light. Stop playing small. There are souls out here waiting to connect with someone just like you.
If you want more on this fear of being seen, you can read this letter from my future self I wrote 3 years ago. (I have been building up the courage to face this fear for mf lifetimessss probably lol) & I HIGHLY recommend writing your current self a love note from the future version of you, the version of you who is already shining her light & letting herself be seen. What does she want you to know?
