This conversation with Julia de’Caneva might just be the most uncomfortable and confronting episode of this podcast yet. In this conversation we’re diving into fear of death and dying, why as a society we struggle so much with even having conversations about death, how to live more intentionally, and what facing your fear of death can teach you about how you want to experience being alive.
I’m gonna shoot straight with all of you- this conversation is triggering, but something that I’m a firm believer in is that I don’t just want to be having the same conversations in my personal life that reinforce the same patterns of thinking. I want to be surrounding myself with people who offer me very different perspectives and challenge me. One of my goals in creating this podcast is to help you stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone too.
Julia is an ever-curious, highly sensitive, nonconformist, and lover of life. She is a UCLA Trained Mindfulness Facilitator, and holds additional certifications in yoga [nidra] and reiki. She is also a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths Coaching, and most recently a Going With Grace trained death doula. To put it simply, Julia is a life + death coach.
Her work as a coach is rooted in understanding how bio individuality, unique strengths, and unhelpful habits of the body and mind influence our ability to navigate transitions and make changes.
Julia is also a former student and client of mine and I am extremely honored and so grateful to now call her a dear friend.
Before you dive in, I would love it if you could hit pause and leave us a 5 star review and a written review on whatever platform you’re listening on. In doing so, you help get this podcast into the ears and brains of more people like you.
