Fear can be a necessary and healthy part of life. It warns us of danger, and can help us to choose wise decisions. However, fear can also be paralyzing; it can prevent us from being obedient to God. In the first speech of Moses in Deuteronomy, Moses reviews the failures of the past generation and how they missed out on an incredible opportunity. They were at the threshold of the Promised Land, the land that God had promised to their ancestors -Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The promise was all set to be realized.
