It seems that a lot of what we see and hear via various news media is somewhat distorted or cherry picked. Many a time, we can literally vouch for the fact that all they seem to do is repeat what the politicians are saying or what their political affiliates are telling them to say.

Fortunately, we live in a day and age where we have independent media sources available to us and we can get to the facts independently. We are not dependent on "the news" any more.

Information is the key ingredient to being prepared.
