There is a process where a new fad after mass adoption becomes dogma and then that dogma eventually becomes limitations. 

If this happens in marketing, it eventually translates to your becoming obsolete and eventually extinct.

Be mindful of holding onto fixed methods and mindsets and be willing to always question and re-assess those methods and mindsets.
